Renaming a company after a metal is easy; producing it is not. Two juniors now share one name, and a question it can’t answer: how close is either to producing antimony?

Two separately listed antimony companies now trade under the same name. EV Resources Limited was renamed Antimony Resources Limited with the ASX ticker ANT, approved by shareholders on 2 September 2026 and effective from 21 September 2026. Antimony Resources Corp (CSE: ATMY), the Canadian-listed explorer behind the Bald Hill project in New Brunswick, already existed. A reader searching either will likely stumble upon the other.

Both companies are recent reincarnations. EV Resources was, in its own words, a diversified explorer before narrowing to antimony, and Antimony Resources Corp traded as Big Red Mining Corp, with a copper option in Ontario, until it renamed in March 2025 after taking on Bald Hill. Junior mining companies regularly rebrand themselves after whichever commodity is in high demand, so we investigate whether either company has the credentials to back up the antimony tag, or whether the name is opportunistic marketing aimed at a supply bottleneck.

Antimony Resources Limited is at the commissioning stage. Alongside exploration at Los Lirios, its lead asset is the Tecomatlán plant in Puebla, Mexico, which it holds under a lease with an option to purchase and which is progressing towards wet commissioning, with approximately 200 tonnes of mineralised material crushed for process testing, the flotation circuit installation at roughly 90 per cent complete, the cyclone box structure and mill feed conveyor at about 70 per cent and the mill discharge pump at approximately 80 per cent. Representative samples have gone to laboratory analysis to confirm head grade before metallurgical reconciliation. The plant has a stated nameplate capacity of 150 tonnes a day. Its first binding feedstock agreement, a five-year ore supply deal with the Chinantla mine about eight kilometres away, was signed in August; non-binding MOUs with other regional producers cover more than half of that capacity.

Antimony Resources Corp is at the exploration stage. It reported 27.3 per cent antimony over 0.3 metres within 2.28 per cent over a length of 9.12 metres at Bald Hill on 11 September 2026. The company notes these are intersected widths, with true widths estimated at about 70 to 80 per cent of those lengths. The drilling is against a conceptual exploration target of approximately 2.7 million tonnes grading 3 to 4 per cent antimony. The company itself qualifies that target as conceptual, and states that it is uncertain whether further exploration will result in it being delineated as a mineral resource. It is a target, not a resource. How the ore would be processed, and into what, has not been disclosed.

Both remain upstream of the constraint. Tecomatlán’s flotation circuit will make concentrate, not metal; turning one into the other takes a smelter, and neither company has one. Antimony Resources Limited, as EV Resources, produced test ingots from Los Lirios material at an independent metallurgical facility in February; that was a smelting test, not production. Tecomatlán heading towards wet commissioning puts Antimony Resources Limited meaningfully ahead of Antimony Resources Corp on the chain, but neither yet produces antimony at commercial scale.

Next for Antimony Resources Limited: head grade results from Tecomatlán, and a maiden JORC resource at Los Lirios, targeted for the second half of 2026. Antimony Resources Corp now waits on the remaining Central Zone assays at Bald Hill and a permit application targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first of 2027.
